Another Master Mason for Call Sign Lodge!

Our sincere thanks go to the W.M. and Brethren of The Dalhousie Lodge No865 for performing the "Ceremony of Raising" for Bro. Kevin Foulsham on October 19th., and a "thank you" in advance for the further assistance they are generously giving us in January when they will perform a "Ceremony of Passing" for us! That means that there are now four "Foulshams" in the Call Sign Lodge, and I am sure we can improve on that in the years to come.

The willingness of the Brethren of The Dalhousie Lodge to assist us by affording us two of their Lodge meetings shows the harmony that has been built between the two Lodges over recent years, and for this we are most grateful. Long may it continue!

Left to right;

Bro. Kevin Foulsham; W.Bro. Ford Gillespie who performed the ceremony, together with W.Bros. Chas & Bro. Les Foulsham, both cousins of the candidate.

Installation Meeting, Saturday June 11th 2011

The Installation of W.Bro. Lee Mulford as the new Worshipful Master of the Call Sign Lodge on 11h June was a landmark in the history of The Call Sign Lodge. It was the very first time that both Master and Wardens were truly "home grown".

Call Sign Lodge, as a lodge formed firstly for the benefit of radio hams, was consecrated in 1993. Since that time we have had many Past Masters who have once again risen through the offices to the Chair of King Solomon, but this the first time that the Lodge has had three previous Lodge initiates, all radio hams, occupying the three principal offices!

Congratulations go to our Worshipful Master, W.Bro.Lee Mulford, Senior Warden Bro. Garo Molozian, and Junior Warden Bro. Michael White, on their creating this landmark in the Lodge's history!

In Memoriam

W.Bro. Graham George Hooper. PJGD, PPJGW

8th September 1926 - 3rd August 2010

It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of W.Bro. Graham Hooper, a founder and the Consecrating Secretary of this, the The Call Sign Lodge No9501, where he was for many years the main driving force behind the Lodge. He continued as Secretary of the Lodge from its consecration in June 1993 until June 2005, and was insalled as Worshipful Master in June 2008.

 W.Bro. Graham was initiated into Dalhousie Lodge No865 on 21st October 1966, being installed as Worshipful Master in 1971. He succeeded Vic Browning as Secretary of the Lodge in 1981, an office he held for over 20 years. He was exalted into Dalhousie Royal Arch Chapter in in 1968, and was installed as First Principle in 1982. He progressed to takeover from Alfred Marks as Scribe E in 1984.

In the Craft he was appointed as PAGDC in 1995, and promoted in 2003 to the rank of PJGD. In the Royal Arch he was appointed PAGDC in 1987, 2nd Provincial Grand Principle from 1995 to 1998, and promoted to PAGSoj in 2000.

As well as his considerable work in both Craft and Royal Arch masonry, he was also active in at least one unit in all of the following orders; Rose Croix, Kights Templar, Royal and Select Master, Allied Masonic Degrees,Secret Monitor, and Knights Templar Priests. Within these orders, Graham was to achieve high office, non moreso than in Middlesex Mark Masonry, where he also achieved Grand Rank for his considerable work as Provincial Grand Charity Steward, being heavily involved in the commencement of the 2012 Middlesex Mark Festival Appeal for the MBF.

In 2007 Graham's health became cause for concern, and he relinquished some of the responsibilities associated within the many orders and units that he was still very active in.

Graham will long be remembered by all of those who knew him, not only for the many  achievements in his own masonic career, but for the considerable encouragement, assistance, and guidance he gave to the younger and less experienced members of the many orders with which he was involved.

Graham has left a great memory to cherish for all of those who came into contact with him, both within and without of his illustrious  business and masonic career.

(My thanks go to W.Bro. David Sparks for much of the formation given here.)
